Life Lately: Resetting & Returning to Center

I missed Sunday’s post. I had something planned, and I told myself I’d get to it, but the truth is I didn’t have the energy. Not just physically, but emotionally and mentally too. And I had to be honest with myself about that.

Lately, life has been… a lot. Between the migraines, the weight of trying to stay consistent, the noise of apartment life, and everything that comes with managing PCOS, HS, and high blood pressure my body has been begging me to slow down. And I finally listened.

I was seeing missing a post as failure, but now I see it as information. A little red flag from my nervous system waving, “Hey… come back to yourself.”

So I’ve been doing that. Slowly, softly. Returning to center.

Here’s what that looks like for me right now:

  • Listening to my body and giving it rest.

  • Breathing intentionally, even if just for one minute

  • Choosing nourishing foods (even when I don’t feel like cooking)

  • Writing down one thing I’m grateful for every day

  • Saying no without explaining myself

  • Taking breaks from noise phone, people, expectations

  • Accomplishing even the simple things ( Ex. Drinking my tea and praying)

Healing isn’t always pretty or organized. Sometimes it looks like sitting in silence when your body hurts, or admitting that you’re not okay but you’re still here. Sometimes it means posting late because you’re choosing rest over performance.

And I’m okay with that. Because Velvet 98 was never meant to be perfect it was meant to be real.

So if you’ve been feeling off, behind, overwhelmed, or unsure… know that you’re not alone. There’s always room to reset. You don’t need a new week or a new month just a moment to breathe and begin again.

Let’s do it together.

How are you resetting this week?
